Earth Day 2023
This year marks the 53rd anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement, commemorated annually as Earth Day.
Since 1970, billions of individuals from more than 190 countries worldwide have come together every April 22nd to take action towards a greener, more equitable future for our planet.
The Whatley team have been supporting Earth Day since 2020, each year the team have undertaken a litter pick around the local area as the main focus of our activity.
This year the 22nd April is a Saturday, which means most of our team are busy taking care of guests and running a smooth hotel operation.
With this in mind a small committed group will assemble to perform a clean up of the hedgerows around Whatley and in the direction of nearby Sherston and Malmesbury along the Fosse Way.
The litter collected is returned to Whatley where the team will sort and recycle everything they possibly can.
If we all do a little it equals a lot and is a really positive help for the planet, the theme for Earth Day 2023 is INVEST IN OUT PLANET, a few recommendations:
- Plant Trees
- Reduce Plastic Consumption
- Participate in Advocacy
- Sustainable Fashion
